No doubt you are sick and tired of your suction mount right? I mean in cold weather it can be a right pain getting them to stick, and if you clean your windows with any kind of cleaning fluid on the inside then kiss your suction goodbye, plus the biggest problem, thieves…

Does it work?

It looks like it should just slide all over the place doesn't it? But actually it seems to work really really well. There are 2,880 reviews on Amazon at the time of writing, and this product is one of the only ones I've seen on Amazon with an average of 5 stars! So that shows how well it works and stays on the dashboard. There is positive review after positive review saying how they expected it to slide around, but it never does.

Not everyone gave it 5 stars mind you, but 2,782 of the 2,880 gave it 4 stars or above, that is 96.6% of the people who purchased it who love it!

There are some drawbacks of course, it is a little bulky, so you probably won't get it in your glovebox, you need to make sure you have room under your seats to pop it under there, and while it does stay on your dashboard nicely, then if you really brake hard then it might come off and fly onto the backseat etc, and if you use slippy cleaning fluids on the dashboard then it might have a hard time gripping for awhile (just like using cleaning fluid on the screen and trying to put the suction mount up), but if you look at the alternatives later on then you'll see these are only minor problems.

What are the alternatives?

You only really have 1 alternative if you don't want to use your suction mount or a dashboard mount like the Garmin Portable Friction Mount, and that is an air vent mount. The air vent mounts still need to be removed when you park up as they can be seen, so you risk breaking your air vent every time you take it off, plus they are often positioned much lower than the traditional dashboard or windscreen mount, making you take your eyes off the road every time you want to look at it.
